laser construction kit
This seminar was about producing a simple construction kit together with the students, using a laser-cutter. After assembly, the modules were fitted with surface mirrors and laser-modules. This kit was then used by the students to quickly generate constructions of light in the university’s cellar. The beams of light visible in the dark were transferred into building elements. Based on tiny concepts provided by the students,
this enabled life-size constructions that could be experienced by people. Every mirror and every laser-pointer could be fitted with four different adaptors: suction cups, magnets, cable ties and weights. Because of these technical restrictions, in order to use the adaptors skilfully, the rooms of the cellar had to be examined by the students regarding material and architectural properties.
